PROFESSIONAL ​INFO​​

I've been a journalist for four years, starting straight out of high school with a student reporting gig for a local station and freelancing on the Odyssey Online. 

​

I'm currently an intern for RVA Magazine, a publication dedicated to Richmond's culture and social scene.  I've also freelanced for publications like The Commonwealth Times. 

​

I'm also pursuing a minor in Creative Writing, often incorporating my own unique style into my articles.

2015-2016

Student Reporter for Innovation Workshop

Served as a Student Reporter for the Emmy award-winning Innovation Workshop "Inside the Nanofab", an educational production on nanotechnology and in-depth look into the National Institute of Technology's NanoFab

Served as a Student Reporter for Innovation Workshop's "Electronic Circuits", an educational production on electrical circuits and how they affect the technology in household appliances

2016-2019

Staff Writer for Her Campus at VCU

Wrote lifestyle​, health, beauty and opinion based content aimed at college-aged young women under strict deadlines, usually content centered around mental health and intersectional feminism

Researched and wrote at least one or more articles, listicles and profiles every week, three of my articles being shared on the national HerCampus Website

Promoted and shared at least 3 pieces of content on several social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest

Participated in social media campaigns for numerous brands like innisfree, Freemans skincare and Velcro; curating Facebook and Instagram posts promoting sponsored products

Reported, researched and wrote hard news stories on tight deadlines, mostly coverage on state politics and local events; stories published in several online publications including the Washington Post, Chicago Tribune and the Associated Press

Wrote several opinion pieces on the intersections between race and nerd culture, my piece "Blackface in Cosplay: It's Not A Good Look Honey" currently garnered 921 views in the past month alone and over 2,000 views for the past 6 months
